"Symposium of Taste" by Gianni Otaviani.
A native of Popoli (PE), Italy, and a graduate of the Art Institute of Sulmona, Gianni Ottaviani has many awards to his credit including the 1979 Naples “Giulio Rodino” international prize. In 1980 he launched the art gallery ‘L’occhio’ in his hometown. A year later, Gianni enjoyed much success with his exhibit in Toronto, receiving many accolades for his highly-esteemed black and white water colours. More success followed in 1995, when Gianni exhibited at the Plaza Hotel in Rome and, six months later, at Rome’s Roof Garden where his collage of works was greatly applauded.
In addition to New York, his works have been widely exhibited in Italy’s main cities, including Pescara, Milan, and Naples. A member of the group of artists, C.O. Metropoliti, Gianni has demonstrated his talents as a portraitist. So much so that Diego Abatantuono, Veronica Berlusconie, Papy Wojtiva, and Lady Diana asked him to paint their portraits. In 2003, his popular exhibit in Montreal focused on the themes of “Women make us reflect”, and the masterful “Homage to the Milan Soccer Team”. On the horizon is a collaborative show with Shevchenkov in Kiev, to be followed with an exhibit in Toronto that will be dedicated to Schevchencko and the story of the Ukraine. |
